RTP & Volatility Explained

Stormfire has a published RTP of 96.15%, a long-run average rather than a session prediction.

🎰 Our Review of Stormfire Review: Storm and Fire Wilds That Merge Into a x30 Giga Wild

Stormfire is a Red Tiger slot built around two kinds of wild: Storm Wilds that expand and respin on the middle reels, and Fire Wilds on the outer reels that push every other wild’s multiplier up. Red Tiger lists a 47.78% hit rate, so nearly half of all spins pay something. The catch is that a hit is not the same as a profit, and the 25,000x ceiling depends on several wilds landing together.

The question this review answers: does a game that hits this often actually feel generous, or does it just keep you spinning?

Quick verdict

  • ✓ Best for players who like wild-driven base games where features build inside one spin
  • ✓ Best for players who want published numbers: RTP, hit rate, bet range and max win are all on the provider page
  • ✗ Avoid if you read a high hit rate as low risk: many hits pay less than your stake
  • ✗ Avoid if you need an official volatility rating: Red Tiger doesn’t publish one

RTP check: look at the RTP in the game’s information panel at your casino. Red Tiger’s page lists 96.15% and doesn’t name a lower setting, but casinos can run different configurations. A lower figure means a lower theoretical return over the long run.

Red Tiger’s game information was checked on 26 October 2026. Each figure is labelled by evidence status in the table above.

How the wilds work together

  • Wild: lands on reels 2, 3 and 4 with x2 or x3. When 2 or more share a winning line, their multipliers are added.
  • Storm Wild: lands on reels 2, 3 and 4, expands to fill the reel and triggers a respin with all wilds held. A Storm Wild landing where a regular wild sits takes that wild’s multiplier.
  • Mega Wild: 3 Storm Wilds in one spin merge into a 3×3 wild with x15.
  • Fire Wild: lands on reels 1 and 5 and expands. 1 Fire Wild raises the other wilds to x5, 2 raise them to x10, and they can add up to 3 extra wilds on the middle reels.
  • Giga Wild: 1 Fire Wild with 3 Storm Wilds or a Mega Wild merges into a 4×3 wild with x30.
  • Max win: 2 Fire Wilds with 3 Storm Wilds or a Mega Wild award the 25,000x maximum directly.

Free Spins and Super Spins

  • Trigger: 3 or more Free Spins scatters. Each scatter awards 3, 4 or 5 spins.
  • Sticky wilds: regular wilds land with x2, x3 or x4 and stay in place for the whole round.
  • Fire Wilds lock too: they keep the other wilds raised to x5 or x10 for the rest of the round.
  • Extra spins: each scatter in the round adds 3, 4 or 5 spins, and each Fire Wild adds 2.
  • Super Spins: 1 Super Spins scatter with 2 or more Free Spins scatters. Same rules, with better chances of Storm and Fire Wilds.
  • The cap ends the round: if a round reaches 25,000x it stops at once, and any spins left are lost.

Feature buys. Where they are allowed, Red Tiger’s launch article lists 4 options:

  • Power Mode, 3x the stake per spin: a better chance of Storm Wilds, Fire Wilds and Free Spins scatters.
  • Free Spins, 90x the stake: 3 or more scatters guaranteed, one of which may also be a Super Spins scatter.
  • 5 Scatters, 250x the stake: 5 Free Spins scatters guaranteed.
  • Super Spins, 450x the stake: 1 Super Spins scatter and 2 or more Free Spins scatters guaranteed.

Availability and prices can vary by market, so check them in your casino’s version of the game. Feature buys are not available in some markets, including Great Britain.

The catch: 47.78% tells you how often a spin pays, not how much. Many of those hits return less than your stake, so a session can feel busy while your balance still falls. The 25,000x figure is a ceiling that needs 2 Fire Wilds and 3 Storm Wilds together, and Red Tiger doesn’t publish how often that happens.

What the numbers mean for your budget

  • Theoretical return: at 96.15%, the game returns an average of 96.15 units per 100 wagered over the long run, a theoretical loss of 3.85 units. A single session can end far above or below that.
  • Wagered is not deposited: 100 spins at 1 is 100 wagered, even if you only deposited 20 and kept re-staking your wins.
  • Volatility: Red Tiger doesn’t publish an official rating on the page we checked. The 47.78% hit rate tells you how often spins pay, not how big those wins are or how often large payouts happen, so don’t use the hit rate or max win alone to judge volatility.

Our hit frequency guide explains why a high hit rate and a big ceiling can sit in the same game.

  • RTP differences here are tiny. Bounty Cove’s 0.03 points over Stormfire is about 0.03 units per 100 wagered in the long run, and says nothing about a single session.
  • Figures for the other games come from their own reviews, which use the same evidence labels.
