RTP & Volatility Explained
Money Train 4 has a published RTP of 96.10%, a long-run average rather than a session prediction.
Money Train 4 is really two games sharing one screen. The base game is a 6×6 scatter-pays slot with a sticky-symbol respin. The Money Cart bonus is a hold-and-win round where almost all of the 150,000x ceiling lives. In 25 demo spins we saw plenty of the first and none of the second, which is the most useful thing to know before you play it.
Key facts at a glance
- Provider: Relax Gaming
- Grid and pays: 6 reels by 6 rows, scatter pays (wins for 8 or more matching symbols anywhere, 10 or more for most symbols)
- RTP: 96.1% in the demo build we played; buy feature RTP 96.5%
- Max win: 150,000x the bet (Relax game page and in-game splash)
- Bet range: 0.10 to 6 per spin, as listed in euros on the Relax page
- Bonus buy: 100x for the bonus, 500x for the bonus with one Persistent symbol, where offered
- Volatility: not published by Relax
Relax also lists a separate UK game ID, moneytrain4_92. The name suggests a lower-RTP build for some markets, so check the RTP line in the game info at your casino. To test: which RTP your casino runs.
What happened in our 25 spins
We played 25 spins on Relax’s own fun-money demo at 2.00 per spin, so 50.00 staked in total.
- Returned: 45.60, three winning spins out of 25
- Best spin: 40.00 (20x the bet), from a respin run on the top symbol with a 2x multiplier
- Second best: 4.00 (2x), also from a respin, on a low symbol
- Other win: one small 1.60 line hit
- Money Cart: did not trigger
Twenty-two dead spins out of 25 is a dry base game. A sample this small says nothing about long-run return, but it does show the pattern: most spins pay nothing, and the base game only comes alive when the respin kicks in.

The respin feature
According to the game rules, the respin can start at the end of any spin. The symbol that appears most on the reels becomes sticky and you get a respin. More of that symbol can land and stick, and the run ends when nothing new lands.
- Multiplier symbols can also land. They don’t stick, but each one adds a respin.
- Multipliers are added together and applied to the final win.
- In our 20x spin, the top portrait symbol held for five steps and one 2x multiplier doubled the total.
Money Cart: where the 150,000x comes from
Three or more Bonus symbols anywhere start the Money Cart round. Each one reveals a value of 1x to 10x the bet, and you get 3 spins.
- Locked rows: filling a row unlocks another, up to four times per round.
- Feature symbols: Collectors take values from the grid, Payers add value to other symbols, the Sniper doubles 3 to 8 values, and the Necromancer revives used feature symbols.
- New in this game: the Arms Dealer turns 1 to 4 Bonus symbols into feature symbols, the Upgrader makes feature symbols Persistent, the Unlocker opens a row and Reset+ adds a spin to the counter.
- Persistent (gold) symbols: repeat their action after every spin, which is how values snowball late in a round.
To test: how often the Money Cart triggers in normal play, and what a typical round pays.

Is the bonus buy worth it?
The buy costs 100x your bet for a standard Money Cart, or 500x for one that starts with a Persistent symbol. Its RTP is 96.5%, slightly above the 96.1% of normal play in this build. That small edge doesn’t make a 100x purchase low risk: one bad round can lose most of it. Bonus buys are banned or switched off in some countries, including the UK.
How it compares
If you like the idea of collecting values but want lower stakes in the bonus, Big Bass Bonanza uses a simpler version: a fisherman collects fish values in free spins. Its 2,100x cap is far below Money Train 4’s, but the feature is much easier to follow. For what a big gap between base game and bonus means for your balance, see our guide to slot volatility.
Our verdict
Money Train 4 suits players who already enjoy hold-and-win bonuses and can sit through long dry spells to reach one. The Money Cart has more moving parts than almost any rival, and the 150,000x ceiling is real on paper. Casual players should start at the minimum bet: our 25 spins returned 45.60 from 50.00, and every meaningful win came from the respin, not the bonus.
The theoretical cap on Money Train 4 Review: Respins, the Money Cart and a 150,000x Max Win is 150,000x the stake. Top-end hits are rare, and in most slots the bonus round is where the biggest multipliers land.
